Palmaz Vineyard

The Palmaz’s bought a historic stone winery built in 1881, the Cedar Knoll Winery which had fallen into disrepair. In 2002 vTA was retained as the Landscape Architect to assist the client with creek restoration and construction of the new winery’s hardscape and landscape. Outdoor entertaining areas were created into the hillside taking advantage of the spectacular views of the Napa Valley. Existing boulders found on the site during construction of the caves were quarried and used for the façade of the wine making facility and for the landscape retaining walls. The new plantings introduced specimen Oak trees, native shrubs and grasses to transition into the site’s natural beauty.
